    Sustainable & Ethical Origin…

Deep in the Amazon Jungle of Suriname lies the District of Sipaliwini, home to many tribal communities and villages, including the childhood village of Asopie’s founder, and to this day the home to his family.
Located in the most Southern region of the Sipaliwini district is the Indigenous village Alalapadu, a small community formed by the Trio people. Since 2016, this indigenous community has been working with local non-profit organizations on various projects for sustainable development and forest conservation. The Tuhka (Brazil nuts) project was born from this effort and collaboration. In this project, a 100% solar-powered Brazil nuts processing facility was built to process organic raw Brazil nuts, and produce Brazil nut oil, whilst creating jobs for the local community

The Brazil nuts are hand picked and dried, by members of this tribal community, which are then sold to the foundation for processing.

Coming from the same region, the mission of Asopie aligns with this community project. We have recently partnered with this tribal community and the local non-profit organization to offer these Brazil nuts in Hong Kong and the surrounding region.
